Shorter musings (my Twitter feed)

At the request of @minervaknecht, here is a list of travelogues through Central Asia, focused on the early Soviet, Tsarist and pre-Tsarist periods. This is no way a full list, just some of my favourites.

TV interviews in a time of Coronavirus. Audio recording from home. A chance to look half decent via archive photo. “Uyda koling!” (Stay Home!) in the top right.
I was talking about the newly rebranded @GOVuz Ministry of Economic Development and *Poverty Reduction*!

A little bit proud of #Uzbekistan. Despite strict quarantine, no any sight of panic. People are calm, shops are full and no crowds inside at all. Everything on shelves. Even buckwheat 😅 I thought it could be worse, but we are going well so far. Thanks, compatriots!

Another media case from #Uzbekistan. Most of popular channels in Telegram today have changed its names adding "from home" or "stay home". All mobile network operators have changed its names to "Stay home" ("Uyda qoling" in Uzbek). This an idea of joint Media HQ by @massmediauz

#Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev on #Coronav0irusOutbreak: 1) We'll listen to our doctors 2) Food security is a priority 3) Schools closed but education should continue online/at home 4) Please, don't panic 5) We should be ready for more economic hardship

The Chameli Devi Jain award for outstanding journalists this year goes to independent journalist @rohini_mohan and @khanumarfa from @thewire_in.

Journalism in India is survived only by independent media at great personal risks and almost shoe string budgets. Kudos to them!
